Part 2
Praise the Lord. If you have your Bibles with you, please turn with me to Matthew 24. I’m reading from the 36th verse down.
Matthew 24:
36 But of that day and hour knowth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; one shall be taken, and the other left.
42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
There were actually three questions that the disciples asked Jesus. There wasn’t just one. When shall these things be? What shall be the sign of thy coming? What shall be the end of the world? And Jesus answered from the very beginning. He said not one stone be left upon stone; talking about the temple. Then He goes on and He tells about the signs that will come before the coming of the Son of man. And He answered these, and the strangest thing is that – Jesus now, talking to His disciples; tells them that there is going to be a similarity; that there is going to be something similar, if not exactly the same, as was in the “days of Noah”.
I guess the best way to understand what happened in the “days of Noah” is to read some of the happenings that took place. So turn with me again to Genesis 6 and we will read the first verse down to about the 6th or 7th, and then we will skip down to about the 12th or 13th verse.
What were the conditions? What was happening in the “days of Noah”? What was taking place there? He didn’t say as in the day of Sodom and Gomorrah; He didn’t say as in the days of Nineveh; but He said as in the “days of Noah”. So there are going to be some things that are similar that happened in the “days of Noah”, right before the flood; similar or exactly the same as what is going to happen in the days of the coming of the Son of man. Now:
Genesis 6:
1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
4 There were some giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.
Skipping down to the 12th verse:
12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
And, of course, He talks to Noah to begin to build an ark, and that is exactly what Noah begins to do. So what was happening here? What was actually taking place? Well, as we read in a clearer version of what was taking place, there was not only immorality; there was violence to such a degree that killing was the order of the day. And if there was something that you wanted from your neighbor in those days – you just took it: whether it is a possession; whether it is a wife; just whatever it was. There was no respect whatsoever; for men, for women, for property. There was no respect whatsoever.
The violence that the Bible talks about was much more severe than what we know. This violence had gotten so terrible, that they were actually slaying people and enjoying it. There was enjoyment out of slaying. You know, I’ve talked to a few veterans in the past. One especially was a Viet Nam veteran. He had really seen action, and the man was a hopeless alcoholic and had been on drugs as well. I finally talked to him and I said, “What was it really like? What really happened?” And you know, usually, the ones who really saw action – don’t talk about it. It’s the ones who didn’t see action – they will tell you all about it: what they did, what they didn’t do. But the ones that really saw; they don’t want to remember the horror of it.
He said, “Brother Campbell, you wouldn’t believe what happened to good men; young men that came over from America.” He wasn’t talking about the enemy. We know what the enemy did. But he said, “They became just like beasts” He said, “They went in and they slaughtered and they killed children; they killed the women; they killed the men; they raped them. They did the same thing that the enemy did.” He said, “There were a lot of drugs going on in Viet Nam, probably a lot more than what people realize.” It wasn’t just an alcoholic thing, it was drugs. You know, you have got to think, when these terrible atrocities take place; even these terrible murders that we read about in the papers sometimes. You wonder, how could a man or a woman do such a thing? I mean, how could they?
You know, this fellow from Wisconsin? Of course being from Wisconsin, we read about it every day and heard about it on the news. Please remind me of his name. Maybe it will come to me. That’s it, Jeffrey Dahmer. He was cannibalistic. He not only killed the people, but he ate them. This actually happened in this twentieth century. You would not think something like that would ever take place, and it started when he was very young. I’m sure that a spirit possessed the man. I don’t think a human being could do any of these terrible, terrible things without an evil spirit possessing his mind and probably even his whole body. But these things took place in our generation. This really happened.
You know, if you talk to detectives and the police that are on homicide, they don’t even want to talk about details. They said that some of these things, terrible things that happened, they don’t even release to the news because it is so terrible.
Now what possesses men and women to do such terrible things? How can a woman kill her children? How can they drown them? How can she smother them to death? How can they beat their head against the wall ? How can men do that? So you see, there has got to be evil spirits, and that is exactly what was happening in the “days of Noah”. The evil spirits, the spirits of darkness had so possessed the people in their minds, that their imagination was evil continually; (Gen. 6:5). That means that every single moment of the day, 24-hour period; 7 days a week; 365 days out of the year; they were thinking evil constantly; from the moment they awakened in the morning to the time that they went to sleep in the evening hour. And there was terrible violence that took place in that day.
We are getting there; worse, if not just as bad. It is taking place in our generation. It actually is happening. It happened there. It got so terrible that God said. “I’m sorry that I made man.” (Gen. 6:7). “I’m sorry that I created him.” And that is really saying something, Saints, when our Creator looks at mankind and says that. Man has degraded himself; that is what it says. He had degraded himself to such a state that they were as low as the beast, and worse than the beast. Sometimes, the beast won’t hurt their own. But they were hurting their own. They were killing. There was no respect. There was no honor. There was no respect whatsoever; no kindness, nothing. It was just a time of violence, and it continued.
So God found one man named Noah. And Noah found unmerited favor – that is what “grace” means. He found unmerited favor in the eyes of God; (Gen.6:8). God said, here’s a man I can work through. Here’s a man that has not polluted himself. Here is a man that hasn’t partaken of all of these things. I can work through this man, and I can save a remnant, out of this generation. And that is exactly what happened, for the Bible says that He spoke to Noah, and He said, “I want you to build an ark.” (Gen 6:13-14).
Of course, Noah didn’t know what an ark was. ‘What is an ark Lord? I don’t know what an ark is. I wouldn’t know how to go about building it. How do you build an ark?’ HE said, ‘Well, come here. I’ll show you how to do it.’ And he did. It took him what, about 100 years? 120 years he was a preacher of righteousness. And all that time, every day, the people would come. I think the children watched him. You know, when we were kids we wanted to watch the boats come in. I lived in Wisconsin near the Great Lakes, Lake Michigan. We liked to watch the big coal boats come in and go. It was just the thing for kids. I’m sure that was a big thing for them. They just sat and watched, and some of them laughed, maybe even threw stones at Noah. I don’t know. You know how children are? Nevertheless, they watched and they would go home and tell their mom and their dad. They would ask, “What is that crazy Noah doing?” and the kids would say, “Well he is building that thing, whatever it is. He calls it an ark, but it is just the biggest thing that I have ever seen.”
Noah goes and he builds it. And God says, “I am going to spare a remnant people.” (Gen. 6:18). There were eight that were saved. That is what the Bible says, there were eight that were saved; (1 Pet. 3:20). But he also spared two of each kind of the animals. (Gen. 6:19-20)
I got to thinking about that, how were they brought into the ark. Of course the ark had three levels.
They had the lower level, which is where the beasts went. They didn’t come to the second level. They stayed in the lower level. And I wondered – it doesn’t say anything about all of these being pets, you know? These lions, and tigers, and bears; they had serpents in there too. It said creeping things, they were poisonous. Two snakes; two turtles; and they had crocodiles in there – but none of them fought among themselves. None of them attacked Noah or his family. Not one of them. I don’t think they went and petted them. I don’t think at night, or in the day, that Noah and his family said, let’s just go down and pet these lovely animals. I don’t think that they did at all, but God brought them in, two by twos. I’m sure that it took days and days to get all of these animals into the ark.
Then we have the second level; and of course, that was where they stored the food. They had food and the provisions for forty days, maybe longer than that. I don’t know. But they had to store a certain amount of grain and food and what not, so that they could eat, for those forty days and those forty nights.
Then there was a top level. They had excess to the top level. But the thing about the top level; you know when it says that God made a window, you immediately think of a window with glass in it. It didn’t have a window with glass in it. That is not the way it was. It was a covered thing. It was actually covered and they could somehow open it. I don’t know what the apparatus was, because I wasn’t there. But somehow they could open the top of that, and they could see out. Not when it rained, of course it was closed.
Let’s read now. I want to read what actually happened in the building of this ark. And so we see that God spoke to him and He said, I want you to make an ark. And of course, he didn’t know what an ark was. The 14th verse:
Genesis 6:
14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.
15 And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, and the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.
16 A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.
So you say, “Why did God speak to you about Noah and the Ark?”
Well, you know, the Old Testament is full of types and shadows; and I think you all know what a type or shadow is. I don’t have to go into that. But there was something He was trying to illustrate to me; and speak to me, in the language that I would understand. I think when God shows you and me something, He talks to us in a language that we can understand. Are you following what I am saying? He doesn’t talk to us in Hebrew or Greek, or some other foreign language. Maybe to the Greeks He talks Greek. But to us, He talks in our language. And He shows us things that we would understand; and we could recognize.
So God began to speak to me, and I didn’t fully understand at the time, what He was saying. Actually the vision came first, and then the Word, and then the Word and the vision was together. When I awakened another day, this is not the same day that I had seen what I saw before – but this was another day. And I awakened, and I saw a very, very strange thing. When I looked out in the spirit, I saw multitudes of people; I saw churches of about every description that you can imagine. They were just all over. I saw the steeples, and they had the cross on them. I knew that it was Christian – it wasn’t Muslims or anything of that sort, or a Jewish synagogue. But it was Christian because I saw the cross.
As I looked closer, I noticed a strange thing that was happening and taking place, I didn’t at first, understand what it was. But I noticed that there was a mist or a cloud that was going up from the people and going up from the churches. It was actually ascending. I looked up and wondered where it was going. It was going to God. It was going back to the Father. And I wondered. I said, “Lord, what meaneth this?”
And the Lord said, “It is my Spirit.”
And I said, “You Spirit Lord?”
And He said, “Yes.”
I said, “What meaneth this?”
He said one word. He said, “Ichabod.”
The spirit has departed. It had left the churches. It had left the people. And I saw this. I wondered at it, and I said, “Lord, what is this? What is happening?” And of course, knowing what it means: Ichabod means the spirit has departed. And so I began to view and look at it more.
And the Lord said to me, “It is the sealing of the sons.”
It is the sealing of the people. It is happening now. Not – going to happen. It is happening now. It is taking place. And that’s when, I got back to the ark – because it was sealed Saints. It was sealed from within. It was sealed from without. There was one door, and that door, God shut the door. Noah had nothing to do with the door. He didn’t touch the door. It says: God shut the door; (Gen. 7:16). And the door was sealed as well Saints. That means that no water could come in; no water could go out. Nothing could go out. Do you understand?
And those waters, those flood waters were not waters of revival; they were not waters of blessing. They were waters of judgment.
The ark represents “Christ”. So “if any man be in Christ”; (2 Cor. 5:17). What does it mean? I think we all get the idea, you know, that we are always in Christ; that we are always in Him. No we are not. Sometimes we are in “Adam”. Sometimes we are walking in the “soulish” part of our being. We are not walking “in Christ”. We are not walking in light, because “if we walk in the light, as He is the light, we have fellowship one with another” (1John 1:7).
So only as we walk in light, and as we walk in obedience, we are walking “in Christ”. Are you following what I am saying? Paul speaks of this very clear in Romans 7; and he speaks of the conflict that goes on inside of us. He says there is a warring going on inside of me. He said that “flesh lusteth against the spirit, and the spirit warreth against the flesh;” (Gal. 5:17). And there is a warring. “Who say deliver me from this body?” (Rom. 7:21). He is not talking about us the Body, but this body; our flesh; this body of death. Do you understand what he is saying? “And who shall deliver me? When I want to do good, evil is present with me:” (Rom. 7:21). When I want to think good; when I want to speak good, evil is present with me. There is a constant conflict, warring, going on; my soul itself, my carnal self, against the Holy Ghost.
Did you know that Saints? Are you aware of the fact of the conflict that is going on, inside of you and me, all of the time? When truth and light comes, the soul wants to reject it. Oh no, the soul doesn’t gladly receive it all – there is a rejection. So therefore, the war; the conflict – is our soulish self; the lower parts of our being. That’s the lower realm, if you want to call it that. Just like it was in the ark, it was the lower realm. It was separate from the second realm, and the higher realm. The second realm speaks of the food, and the higher realm speaks of the heavenly places “in Christ”. Hallelujah! So there are heavenly places “in Christ” that we can sit in. And we can sit in there and we can abide in there all the time. “If you abide in me and my word abide in you,” (John 15:7). That is the condition.
So if the Word of God abides in us, that means; His law is written upon our hearts. We are walking in obedience to His Word; and obedience to His voice, if His Word is abiding in us. Abiding means we are agreeing with it. You can’t abide if you are not agreeing. “How can two walk together, except they agree?” (Amos 3:3). If we are not agreeing – I receive gladly Your Word – or reject it. We either accept or reject. Do you understand?
So – there is that “soulish” part. But when He said to me, this is the “sealing of the sons.”
I said, “What do you mean God? It’s coming?”
“No, it is already taking place.”
Already taking place. Not gonna; not tomorrow; not a hundred years from now; IT IS ALREADY TAKING PLACE. THERE ARE THOSE THAT ARE ALREADY SEALED: and that is frightening! That is very frightening, because there is always the tendency (at least with me) I don’t know about you to always think ahead. You are always thinking it is coming. It is close, but it is not here. It’s going to happen next week, next month.
“Oh yeah, maybe next year Brother Campbell, but not now.”
“I’m not ready now!”
“There is still a lot of corruption in my soul.”
“There is still a lot of bitterness and resentment and hatred in my soul.”
“There is a lot of rebellion in me yet!”
“I’m not living; I’m not walking in that high plane with Him.”
“I have not overcome all of these things Brother Campbell!”
Well, neither have I, Saints. So how do you think that I felt when God begins to show this to me? I wept, and I wept sore. I said “God, it can’t be now!” I said, “Oh my God, not now Lord. Oh my God.” And that is what I repeated over and over again, as I sat there in my chair in my bedroom. I said, “Not now! Oh my God! Oh my God! Not now!” And this was just the beginning of what God was going to show me – Just the beginning!
Do you remember that I said that I felt that I was in “hostile” country? WHY? THE SPIRIT OF GOD LIFTING? There was violence in the earth. In the days of Noah, so shall it be; and in the days of the Son of man. They didn’t believe, until the flood came; (Mat. 24:37, 39). And then it was too late. It is always too late Saints, when we put off what we should do now, today, in searching God and obeying God. Don’t put it off for another day.
If there is something in our heart or our life that is wrong, and we know it is wrong; something that we have got to make right with God or make right with our brother, you had better do it now. You had better do it now, because there is no time left. Time shall be no more. There isn’t going to be that time. You can go and you can hear the Bible teachers tell you what is going to happen and what is going to be happening soon. It is not going to be a byword. It is now! It is now!
And the second thing that I saw, as I begin to think about this: in fact I’m reminded now, it comes to me that Brother Wilkerson – I believe he is a servant of God, and I believe that he gets good things from God. He said that he saw a grouping of men, do you remember, up on a hill? I saw that too! In the same dream! Because when you first see the negative, you say, “My God, there is no hope!” “I am of all men, most miserable.” (I Cor. 15:19) There is no hope, no chance. I might as well give up the ghost.
Do you understand what I am saying? When God first shows you the negative thing, the death thing – and that is what He showed me at first. When I saw the Spirit of God lifting from people; lifting from the churches – God giveth; God receiveth. Life only comes from God. He is the only one that can give us life. He is the only one that can take life. The devil cannot take our life Saints, but God can, and God was taking back His spirit. What a terrible thing to live in a world without the conviction of the Holy Spirit; and to live in a place of darkness, without the joy of the Lord and without the peace of God.
Can you just imagine such a thing? That is what I was seeing. I was going through all of this emotionally. I went through all of this! I didn’t care if I preached again. I didn’t care if I went out. I didn’t care if I did anything. I just cried out to God and I repented. And I said, “God forgive me! Lord have I been dilly-dallying around? Have I been dancing in the market place, like so many have been doing? Lord, have I wasted my time Lord? When there has been such a great need in the church, in Zion. Someone to point the way? Someone to say ‘Repent Ye’! Get ready! For the day of the Lord is here!”
Isn’t that what John did? He said, “Repent! For the Kingdom of God is at hand!” (Mat. 3:2) I didn’t want that Saints. I had no intention, no desire to go out and share this kind of thing with anyone. I had no desire whatsoever. I felt like, ‘God, I’ll just stay here and lament.’ I will put on sackcloth and ashes, and I’ll repent, and I’ll beat myself like they did; like the Jews did. Because I realize that I wasn’t thinking about you then. I wasn’t thinking about the church or the Body. I was thinking about my soul. I was thinking about making it in. Do you follow what I’m saying?
I’ve been preaching some 48 years. I’ve seen healings and miracles and deliverance and all of those things. People saved, and filled with the Spirit, and deliverances; and in my own self, healings and miracles – and Saints, it meant nothing.
It meant nothing. For what I saw, I was confronted with eternity. So while I was weeping so hard; and I was praying; and I was crying out to God, and this went on for quite a while; it went on for several days. Just that one vision, I couldn’t get it out of my thoughts. I couldn’t get it out of my mind, my heart. I was so troubled by it; I was so stirred by it.
Finally the Lord had me look UP. Isn’t it encouraging when He has you look UP? When it is so dark and you can’t see anything - He said, “LOOK UP! Look up to the hill from whence cometh your help!” (Ps. 121:1) “There is still help son. There is still deliverance in Mt. Zion.” Oh yes. “There shall be deliverance in Mount Zion and there shall be deliverance in Jerusalem;” (Joel 2:32). That is what Joel said, when “He poured out His Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,” (Joel 2:28). For there shall be deliverance in Zion and Jerusalem.
And when He said, “Look up and see”, I saw a remnant. I saw a remnant. It was something like David Wilkerson saw. They were on a hill. They were high up. And instead of going up to glory, I saw it coming down. Like they said on the day of Pentecost; there were forked tongues that were coming down. It was such a “ZAPPING” of the Hoy Ghost; such an anointing of POWER and ENERGY. It came upon them and I saw there countenance change, right before my eyes.
And He said, “These shall be my witnesses in this latter day.”
So, if we are going to see light, we are going to see it in His Sons. If we are going to see deliverance, we are going to see it in His Sons. Just pray to God that you are a son. The world is going to see His light, His truth in His Sons, like they saw in Jesus! Now they are going to see it in a corporate Body. Hallelujah! In such an outpouring, just as the Spirit went up, the Spirit came down – but in a double portion. In such ENERGY and such POWER, they couldn’t take death from them; they couldn’t kill them. What about those two witnesses? They couldn’t kill them. Amen. They thought they had killed them but they weren’t dead. WHY? Because the resurrection life in them was so great – they were raised up. Man will not be able to destroy this witness. Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
I’ll tell you something Saints. The ones that I saw, I saw scars on them, and cuts and bruises. They had been cut and bruised. They had been chastened and scourged, and the scars were on them – every one of them, that was filled with that double portion. No, they are not just going to get another touch. This was different, what God was showing me. It was the fullness. It was the fullness of the Godhead bodily, and it was coming into these vessels.
So you see Saints, there was a testimony yet. The Spirit lifted from others, it lifted from the churches; even fellowships, it went up from them. They didn’t know what had happened. They had no idea what had taken place. No more joy. No more victory. No more ecstasy when you are in His presence. It wasn’t going to come like it did before. It was going to come through a Body of Sons that had overcome, and they were full; full Saints; filled with all the fullness of God. I am not talking in measure. I am not talking in part.
Paul talks about in part. He says, “We know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come;” that which is complete; what which is full is come. (I Cor. 13:9-10). I believe that CHANGE is going to take place, and it is taking place now. When He showed me, He said. “Now it is happening son. Right now it is taking place.”
That was frightening. I began to think of all the little small things that I always thought were so important and they weren’t. They were trivial. They were absolutely trivial. The most important thing was “Oh God, save my soul!” “Deliver me from the body of this death!” (Rom. 7:24). I think that is what everyone does. SURVIVAL! If you get on a ship that is sinking, man, you want to get off that ship. Get a log, get something that you can hang on to; anything so that you stay alive and stay afloat. I hope this morning and this afternoon that every one of us gets that survival in you.
You say, “Oh God, I want to survive this. I want to go through this Lord. I need Your grace to do it. I need Your power to do it Lord. I don’t want to be left without Your presence Lord!”
How terrible that would be. I just imagined that for a moment. How terrible it would be, to have His Spirit depart, to lift. That would be a terrible thing.
You say, “Well, Brother Campbell did it ever happen?”
Well, I’ll tell you, we don’t know much about the 400 silent years. I was looking that up just this morning. It you’ve got a Thompson Chain it’s very easy. It talks about the silent years. It talks about what happened. Of course there was the Macabees, and there were a lot of things that happened. BUT, it is nothing Divinely Inspired that we know of. I didn’t say nothing could have happened. But if it is recorded, we don’t know about it. Are you following me? 400 years! There was civilization. Things were taking place, but it is not recorded. There was nothing Divinely Inspired in it. That’s right. That’s right. The voice of the prophet was not heard. 400 years Saints.
So you see Saints, these things can happen. But let us go on. Not only did I see this grouping of people; first I saw multitudes of people, and I saw this white mist. That’s the only way I can describe it. It went up, just like that. Like a cloud, it went up. And I didn’t know what it was. And it went up from groups. It went up from people. It went up from churches. It just went up.
And I said, "What meanest this?”
The Lord just said “Ichabod.”
The Spirit hath departed. That is when I wept, and He didn’t say anything to me until a couple of days later. Can you imagine going through that, and seeing that, and feeling that? Feeling like – my God, I missed the boat. I’ve missed the train. It’s gone. You are left alone and the only way you are going to go through it is by giving your life. The only way you are going to go through it – how many know that when the Spirit of God is departed; that the only way we are going to, or anyone is going to get into God, is through persecution and by giving their life as a martyr?
Speaking about a martyr, the next thing that the Lord showed me; was people, multitudes of people were being herded into a large place. This place had barbed wire all around them. It didn’t have any buildings. There were no buildings; there was just barbed wire all the way around them. There was such a multitude of people, impossible to count. I asked the Lord, “Who are these?”
He said, “They are those of the holocaust.”
I said, “But the holocaust has already happened. The Jewish people went through that.”
He said. “Oh no, it’s not the Jewish people. Now it is the Christians.”
The holocaust. They were waiting. It was just a holding place and where they went from there I don’t know. Whether they were killed or beaten, I don’t know, but I know it was just a holding place. There was weeping, there was crying, there was children and there were moms and dads and there was the aged. They were all together in this large grouping, and they were being guarded. They could not go where they wanted to go. This barbed wire kept them in tact and this was a huge place. I couldn’t number them for there was so many of them.
Friends, I believe that at the same time persecution is going to arise. Now there has been persecution taking place for a long time; not here in America; not at all like you see in Northern Nigeria. The Muslims have killed; they have come and raided many times and killed the Christian people and burned their homes and killed their little children. Yes! That has been taking place. All around the world, you hear of stories: in Africa and other places where Christians have been killed – actually killed – given their lives for the sake of the gospel.
But Saints, this is going to be a “universal” thing. It is not just going to be where you hear about it. It is going to happen right here in America.
You say, “How could this ever happen?”
Well, when the Spirit of God lifts, anything can happen. All that is left is the carnality of man. All that is left is the soulish part of man. In our soul is greed and anger and malice and hatred and all of these other things. That is exactly what is going to take place.
So they were herded into one place. It was a kind of waiting place. All that I could hear was weeping and sobbing and crying and waiting. That’s all that I could hear coming from those thousands, and probably tens of thousands of people for this persecution.
I asked Brother DuCille, many years ago we were talking about Revelation. I said, “How do you see in the book of Revelation, ‘and the sun shall be turned to dark and the moon shall be turned to blood’?” (Rev. 6:12).
He said, “Brother Campbell, the moon is the Church. The moon represents the Church.”
When I’m talking about the Church, I’m not talking about the building. I’m not talking about the organization. I am talking about Blood-washed Christians. Are you following what I am saying when I say Church?
And he said, “The Church is going to be martyred”.
They are going to be martyred, and the blood will flow as much as to the horse bridle; (Rev. 14:20). Oh yes. That was all in this vision that I saw as well.
So we see that the killing will come. It is because there is no conviction of the Holy Ghost any more. There is no comfort of the Holy Ghost. The only way to see is in the sons of God that have overcome: and through them will come the Word of Truth; through them will come the Life of God.
But it is going to be here, there and everywhere. They will be witnesses; oh yes, God will have a witness. And then, one of the last things I saw, not the very last, but one of the last things that I saw was a huge door. It was high; I couldn’t tell how high it reached. It was a huge door and the door was overlaid with gold. In the door, it had a design, and I thought the design was like a vine. On the vine, I thought there was like grapes or something; some kind of fruit that was growing – these were gold.
The door was only opened a little. It wasn’t closed, but it was opened a little. Out of that was coming beams and rays of light – I knew it was heaven. I knew it was in God’s presence, and I could hear the angels. I thought it was the angels; it could have been the saints and the angels both singing. I could hear the most beautiful singing that was coming through that door. At first it was just awesome, like you would see something marvelous and glorious, you know you just rejoice in your heart after seeing all the others – you thought this was marvelous.
All of a sudden, it hit me. “How come the door is only opened that far?” I said. “A body can’t through. This body of flesh cannot get through it. The only way to get through that would be in the spirit.”
Little by little, it was like the hand being removed; like the light that was under the door that was shut. There comes a time when God says – “Enough!” And He shuts the door. BUT, I saw it was still opened, but not much. I’m saying this much, it could have been that much, because if was such a huge door.

Yes, something like that Mark. Something like that, and there was light coming out of it. There was still light, and there was heavenly music; heavenly singing that was coming out of the door. Of course, the first reaction was to rejoice! You know! Naturally when the presence and the Glory of God is there with the singing of the saints – my, who wouldn’t rejoice?
Then it dawned on me – how come it is only opened that much? How would I get through? How would anyone get through? You can’t! Flesh and blood can’t enter the kingdom. This is the day of the end of all flesh. The flesh is not going to be spared. Nothing about the natural man is going to be spared.
So we will not be able to enter in through the gate. We will not be able to enter in through that door, friends – except in the Spirit. We have got to be changed. The rest were not changed. Are you following what I am saying? The ones that were left: everyone wants to fly away some glad morning. In the days of Noah, the wicked were taken. I’m still following the scripture. I’m not out of the Word saints. I’m not fantasizing anything. I’m right in the Word. Amen. So it was in the days of Noah, the wicked were destroyed, and the righteous were spared – but only those in the ark.
Only those in the ark! Only those in Christ! When you are in Christ and you are sealed, you can’t go out and nothing can come in. You are sealed. You are in that place. You are in that position. God puts us in that position. I trust and I hope that is where we are; and that is where God is putting you and me – I hope and I trust. I don’t know your heart. That is something that you have got to decide yourself. I can’t decide that. I know one thing. I know God make it very plain and very clear to me – I’ve got so many scriptures. (I’m not going to finish all of them today.)
All right! It was covered inside and out. It was sealed inside and out. Exodus 12 and that is the Passover. Do you remember what happened with the Passover? In Exodus 12, the Lord had used Moses, through Moses to bring judgment upon Egypt. Everything he brought, it says Pharaoh hardened his heart. Then it says that God hardened his heart, and he wouldn’t let the people of God go. He would not let them go. So what doses that say?
Moses says, “I’ve done everything you told me Lord, and still he won’t let us go.”
HE says, “This time – he will! I’m going to slay all of the first-born.”
What did He say? He said, all right now! This is what I want you to do. You have every Israelite, you have them kill the lamb; and take that blood and sprinkle it upon the doorpost, the lintel and the posts of their house. Their house! This house! Are you following me? Let it be sealed with blood, for when I see the blood – I will pass over you.
Can you imagine that midnight hour? What happened in the land of Egypt – the screaming, the hollering? A lot of you are mothers – can you imagine your little one that is the first-born, dying? The one that you love! Or maybe they are twelve years old. Or maybe they’ve grown into manhood. I don’t know, but you see them die just like that! They just keel over and die. Your husband, if he was the first-born; your wife, if she was the first-born; they died – all of them died! And the Israelites that didn’t obey, they would die – if they went outside of the covering of the Blood.
There was a sealing. Yes there was! It was a seal. Call it what you want to call it. It was a covering, but it was a seal too, upon the lintels and the posts. When I see the blood, I will pass over you. (Ex. 12:13).
Do you know something about angels? Are you all familiar with angels? They are like guided missiles. You don’t talk to them, when they are angels from God. I’ve had a few of them come my way, and you don’t talk to them. You don’t say: “Well, what is your name? Where have you been? What is going on up in heaven?”
“Be thou still!” They said that to Zechariah. “Thou shalt be still. Thou shalt be dumb and not be able to speak for a season.” (Luke 1:20).
It is none of your business who I am or what I am doing. “Hear ye the Word of the Lord!” So you don’t talk. They are like a guided missile. When the Lord says “Death angel, go out and reap,” (Rev. 14:15). You are not going to call them back. You can scream, you can holler, you can say forgive me Lord, in the name of Jesus forgive me Lord, I plead the blood over me. You can do all you want, scream, holler, cut yourself like the false prophets of Baal, and nothing will change. When they are told by God to do something, they do it. They are not like us. See, they don’t understand us.
How about the young prophet? (1 Kings 13). God said, you go down there and prophecy against the altar. You don’t tarry. You don’t eat at anybody’s house. He said, you come back. So he went down. He prophesied to the altar. He started back, and the old back-slidden prophet said, “Oh – come on and eat at my house.”
He said, “No, I can’t do it because the Lord said” –
So he said, “Oh, I’m a prophet too. I’ve got a further word. Come on.”
He went over to his house. He thought, well, he’s a prophet. He must prophesy the truth. All of a sudden, the Word of the Lord came through him and said, “Because you disobeyed, a lion shall slay thee and you shall die.” What did he mean?
Saints, you can pray all you want; you won’t change an angel’s course. You will not. You will not deter them. You will not get them interested in you. They are like guided missiles, they know one thing. That is obey the Lord. Obey the Master. Obey my Father. Oh Saints, that is where He wants us to be. The trouble is that we think it our, we figure it out; we decide we are not going to do that until tomorrow; no next week probably I’ll get around to it. YOU HAVE GOT TO DO IT NOW!! The King’s business demands haste. When the Lord speaks to you to do something, don’t do it another time, another season. If He says pray, pray NOW. It He says fast, fast NOW. If He says go witness to that neighbor that you don’t like and you don’t want to do it, DO IT NOW. Don’t you wait another week or another month? IT IS TOO LATE! When the Lord says something, He means NOW.
He is a present help; present help in a time of need, (Ps. 46:1). With God, it is always NOW, IT IS ALWAYS NOW!
HE IS NOT THE I WILL BE –
HE IS NOT THE I WAS
HE IS THE I AM!
IT IS NOW – NOW WITH GOD, Saints.
We can’t put off any more. We can’t say – “I am going to do it. I’m really going to get close to God; I’m really going to seek God.”
YOU HAD BETTER DO IT NOW!! Don’t you wait for another week or another month? You do IT NOW! I’m going to forgive that brother one of these days, when I see him. YOU DO IT NOW! YOU HAD BETTER DO IT NOW! You may not have another month to live. You say, “Oh, don’t be so silly.” Oh yes! Someone saw the death angel and some folks dying. Was that you, Mark? I know I had seen one and we lost Tommy Cook, a good brother. We lost Rod Johnson, another good brother. We lost Janet, another good sister. Come on Saints! Just like this – 1 – 2-- 3 and they were gone. We are going to see a whole lot more who will be surprisingly gone from our midst. Amen.
So the Lord showed me this, and the GOOD part is the door is still open. It wasn’t wide open, but it was open enough that light was still coming out. BUT the bad part of it is the Spirit had lifted. So where was that light coming to? It was going to the sons! Where was that light coming to? It was coming to the sons! Amen.
I believe that God is going to have a people; a sonship; a priesthood; whatever phraseology that you want. GOD IS GOING TO HAVE A REMNANT – and in them is going to be the fullness of the Godhead Bodily. The fullness of Christ is going to be in them. And Saints, the light, the truth, the direction of God is going to be through these vessels. God is going to use them because they went through it. They weren’t like you or I – oh, we go through it a day or a week or something – “Yeah Lord, I didn’t make it this time. I’ll make it the next time. I’ll get victory over my temper, maybe not this time, but next time.” Don’t keep putting it off for next time, next time, next time; because there may not be a next time. Amen.
What was God saying to us in all of this? Well, let me read a few more things. In 2 Corinthians 1:22 it talks about the seal. There are many scriptures that talk about the seal. I am not just grabbing them out of the sky somewhere, but there are the seals.
Let’s look at 1 Peter and 2 Peter:
1 Peter 4:
17 “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God:
And if it first begin with us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel
of God?
18 “And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and
the sinner appear?
19 “Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit
the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.”
2 Peter 2:
4 “For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to
hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
5 “And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a
preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
6 “And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes condemned
them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should
live ungodly;
7 “And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the
wicked:
8 “For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing,
vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;
9 “The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and
to reserve the unjust unto the Day of Judgment to be punished:
10 “But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness,
and despise government. Presumptuous are they, self-willed, they are not
afraid to speak evil of dignities.”
What is he talking about? What is Peter talking about? I think Peter is talking about the fact – don’t say that just because I was a Christian, my father was a Christian, my family was a Christian, and I have been a Christian all my life.
YOU CAN’T REST IN THAT! You can’t rest in an experience that you had twenty years ago.
“Well twenty years ago I go saved, Brother Campbell.”
Well that’s right, but where are you today? Where are we today? Are we walking in light? Are we walking in truth? Are we walking in righteousness? IF NOT – Saints, we are in trouble. We are in BIG TROUBLE. It is daily, daily picking up our cross; daily dying with Christ. Amen.
It is not something that we do occasionally. We get a little persecution and we think we have really gone through something. We haven’t gone through anything as yet. Did I read Hebrews 11:7? Well, I think I should read that.
Hebrews 11:
7 “By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved
with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by which he condemned
the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.”
So only Noah and his family, eight persons were saved, that is all of that generation that we know of was saved. Amen. There was another one in Hebrews that I wanted to read. But let’s go to 2 Corinthians.
2 Cor. 1:
22 “Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our
hearts.”
The down payment. How many understand the down payment; the earnest. How may know what a down payment is? It means you don’t have the whole amount. You don’t have the whole magilla; you have a deposit, but you don’t have the magilla. You don’t have the whole amount. You’re laughing at magilla. I do use funny language brothers, so you will have to forgive me. I think I picked that up when I was working with the “hippies” years ago. Amen. I never did get over it.
All right. Anyway that was 2 Corinthians; and also Ephesians 1: 13 next:
Ephesians 1:
13 “In whom ye also [trusted], after that ye heard the word of truth, the
Gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed
with that Holy Spirit of promise,
14 “Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the
purchased possession, unto the praise of His glory.”
The earnestness – how many know what earnest money is? Tell them Mark!
“Down payment.”
Thank you. It is the down payment. If you go to buy a house or a car, a lot of them want earnest money. They want a down payment. Of course, even sometimes when you lease a house, they have a deposit. They call it a deposit, and that shows your sincerity –you are really going to buy; you are really interested.
So God is really interested in us and He invested in us and He makes a down payment. Do you understand?
Predestination – let me give you the interpretation that I feel the Lord had given me. Predestination is – you have a pre-destined course set for you. God has arranged steps for us to take before we take them. Are you following me? That is according to the foreknowledge of God. Now predestination means that the Titanic left Liverpool on a destined course. It was destined for New York. It never made it. It hit an iceberg and sunk on its maiden voyage. You know a lot of people boasted about this ship. They said it was unsinkable. Some of the help even said that God couldn’t sink it. And it sunk. Why? 1800 went down, or 1800 saved; one of the other. There were thousands that lost their lives. It didn’t make it to its destination, because it hit an iceberg.
We are destined to become sons of God. We have been adopted, accepted in to the beloved of God. Oh yes, and He has got a destination for you and I. Oh yes, and that is to become overcoming sons of God, each one of us – BUT we can sink – we can hit an iceberg somewhere along the way and NEVER MAKE IT. Oh yes. Are you following me? You see, predestination means that God has set a predestined course for us. BUT whether or not we make it to that destination depends on us. He has given the earnest, the down payment, the deposit, but a lot depends on our attitude.
You see, I don’t believe in “once saved, always saved.” I’m sorry, I don’t believe in that kind of philosophy. I believe that you and I are only saved as we continue on, and follow on to know the Lord. Amen. We are called according to His purpose. So, “all things work together for him that is called according to His purpose, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” (Rom. 8:28). So if anybody comes along and teaches that no matter what, we are still the honeys of God and we are still going to make it – don’t you dare believe them. Amen.
Nevertheless, to sum this up – to make a summarization, if that is what speakers do. What is God saying to us and through us for the Body? He was saying that it was later than what we think. He was saying that the door was still open, just a crack. He was saying there are many that are already sealed. And that is scary. They are ready, they are sealed by God. They are IN, they have made it.
You say, “How could they know that?”
Well, Moses knew it. God said, get out of the way Moses, let me destroy this people – and Moses said, “God, You can’t do that. These are Your people.”
“Rather blot my name out of the Book of Life.” (Ex. 32:32) How did he know that His name was in the Book of Life? Well, maybe if you had been 40 days and 40 nights up in the mountains with God, you would know something too. Moses was up in the mountains with God and there was more than just getting the Ten Commandments. Moses we know, at least it is recorded, that he wrote the Book of Genesis. That means he SAW the whole creation. He saw God doing it. Oh Glory to God! He SAW the Lord actually doing it. Calling the waters forth. Making the dry land appear. Making the stars, the sun, and the moon. He SAW that happening. He was in the Book of Life.
Paul knew it too. “I know there is a crown waiting for me of Life.” (2 Tim. 4:8)
Oh Hallelujah! Come on Saints! If we are not sure, there is something wrong with our walk. If we are rather shaky, there is something wrong with our experience. “I think that we can know in whom we have believed in, and that He is keeping everything that we have committed unto Him against that day.”(2 Tim. 1:12)
There is a knowing God and there is a knowing about God. We had better know God. We had better know Him when all hell breaks loose. Saints, we had better know Him when the floods come and the earthquakes come. We had better know Him when His Spirit is lifted – we had better be in the inner circle with God. Hallelujah! If we are not, we are going to be on the outside, and if you don’t think there were people pounding on that ark – “Let me in!” “Let me in!” “Let me in!” It was too late. God shut the door. Noah didn’t shut the door. He didn’t have anything to do with that. God shut the door.
There comes a time when God says enough is enough is enough. He is slow to anger, but when he waxes His anger hot, look out saints. Amen. He is going to judge. He is going to correct. Whether you don’t like to hear correction or judgment, it is still true anyway. You and I have nothing to fear as long as we are walking in the Light – and that means obedience to everything that He tells us to do and not to do.
Oh, I trust that this Word stirs your pure minds in Christ. I trust that this stirs up the Holy Ghost in you. I am not the only one that you are going to hear these things come from. Oh no saints. There are many, many in the Body of Christ and many servants of God who are going to be saying the same thing. Maybe in different words, maybe with a little different approach, but they will be saying the same thing.
